Gokana constituency has experienced political stagnation, limited infrastructural development and inadequate representation. The time has come for a new generation of leadership that understands the true responsibilities of legislative office and is commited to the collective progress of our people. My candidacy for the Rivers State House of Assembly representing Gokana Constituency is inspired by a clear vision to end the cycle of political Stagnation, restore dignity to governance, and usher in a new era of purposeful representation. I believe that leadership is a sacred trust. its not an avenue for personal enrichment or temporary handouts, but a platform for strategic development, effective legislation and responsible representation. 1. MY VISION To liberate Gokana and establish a new political culture built on: • Development-driven representation • Generational leadership transition • Accountability and transparency • Protection and promotion of the interests of our people This movement represents a political succession from the old order to the next generation of leadership. 2. MY PHILOSOPHY OF REPRESENTATION The role of a legislator is not to distribute money or execute token projects of minimal impact. The primary responsibility of a legislator is to: • Make laws • Represent the interests of constituents • Influence government policy • Ensure equitable distribution of government resources • Lobby for major development projects If elected, I will not mortgage the interests of my people for personals benefit. I will also not reduce governance to the sharing of ₦10,000 stipends or small politically motivated gestures that do not bring sustainable development. Instead, I will pursue high-impact development projects by ensuring that not less than ₦1 Billion worth of projects are included in the Rivers State Budget for Gokana Constituency every fiscal year. This approach will ensure lasting development rather than temporary relief 3. EDUCATION FOR OUR PEOPLE Education remains the bedrock of every Society. As your representative, I will: • Renovate dilapidated School Buildings, and equipping of Laboratories. • Provide Scholarship for Outstanding Students • Support in the payments of WAEC, NECO and JAMB Examinations • Provide Educational Materials( Exercise Books, TextBooks, Pen, Bags and Sandals). 4. EMPLOYMENT AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR PEOPLE Youth unemployment remains one of the biggest challenges facing our constituency. As your representative, I will: • Lobby for job opportunities for qualified indigenes of Gokana constituency. • Advocate for fair inclusion in state and federal employment. • Facilitate access to training and empowerment programmes. • Promote opportunities within government agencies and development programs. 5. PROTECTION OF FEDERAL CHARACTER AND FAIR REPRESENTATION I will ensure that the principle of equitable representation is respected in all decisions of the state government. This means advocating that:• Every Local Government receives fair representation. • Recruitment into the civil service is balanced and transparent. • Appointments into political offices reflect fair distribution across the State. No community should be marginalized in the affairs of the State. 6. HEALTHCARE FOR OUR PEOPLE Healthcare is a fundamental right of our people. I will lobby for the renovation, upgrading, and full restoration of the General Hospital Gokana to a standard and functional facility. This will include: • Modern medical equipment • Improved healthcare infrastructure • Increased staffing support • Better maternal and emergency care services Our people deserve quality healthcare close to home 7. CONSTRUCTION OF INTERNAL ROADS I will lobby for the construction of the Gokana internal Roads to be included in the Rivers State Budget and partner with the South South Development Commission (SSDC) on Road construction that will link Ogoni communities, This road will: • Open up rural communities • Improve agricultural transportation • Enhance access to markets • Reduce travel time between communities 8. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND SUSTAINABILITY I will ensure the ongoing UNEP report on Environmental remediation/Clean up is fully implemented. And environmental Standards followed Strictly • Partner with The Hydrocarbon Remediation Project (HYPREP) • Partner with Non governmental organizations (NGOs) to carry out sensitization campaign and awareness in various Communities of Gokana constituency • Sponsorship of Environmental Research Programmes and provision of waste Management facilities in strategic areas. 9. CULTURE AND ENTERTAINMENT Our cultural heritage is the bedrock of our identity. To preserve our traditions and boost our local entertainment sector, I will: • Collaborate with traditional rulers across the Ogoni Ethnic Nationality, particularly in Gokana, to host a befitting Festival designed to infuse deeper cultural participation and unity amongst the young and the old. • Support and elevate festivals that showcase the Ogoni culture, working in close collaboration with the traditional and political leaders of the Ogoni Ethnic Nationality. • Legislative Support: Sponsor bills and actively lobby for the advancement, protection, and promotion of Gokana culture and the broader entertainment industry within our constituency 10. ADVANCEMENT OF THE GOKANA PEOPLE The interests of the Gokana people will be protected, promoted, and projected under my watch. For too long, the Ogoni nation has been sidelined in political and developmental considerations. If elected: • I will be a strong voice for the Gokana people. • I will advocate for greater political inclusion. • I will pursue development projects that benefit our communities. • I will ensure that our people are not ignored in the distribution of opportunities. The era of sidelining the Ogoni man must come to an end.11. TRANSPARENT AND ACCESSIBLE REPRESENTATION My office will operate with openness and accountability. I will: • Maintain regular consultations with constituents. • Provide periodic reports of my legislative activities. • Establish community engagement platforms. • Ensure that the voices of the people are heard at the State Assembly. 12. LEGISLATIVE DUTIES Beyond constituency development, I will diligently carry out my responsibilities in the Rivers State House of Assembly, including: • Sponsoring and supporting laws that promote development. • Conducting oversight of government ministries and agencies. • Ensuring accountability in government spending. • Advocating policies that improve education, healthcare, security, and economic development. 13. A NEW GENERATION OF LEADERSHIP The 2027 election represents more than a political contest. It represents: • The end of political stagnation. • The rise of a new generation of leaders. • A shift from politics of survival to politics of development.
